Conditions of use for EDAS1. Access to the EDAS serverThe European GNSS Agency (hereinafter referred to as "GSA") together with the European Commission, DG Enterprise, grants access to the EDAS server and allows the use of EDAS data for research and development purposes. The server is physically located in the EGNOS Master Control Center in Torrejón in Spain.
2. EDAS usageThe following elements are provided to the EDAS users:
2.1 Requirements for using EDASThe usage of EDAS requires the following the elements :
2.2 Connection to EDASThe users may connect to EDAS
2.2.1 Internet connectionFor Internet connections: · Users should refrain from being connected on 24/7 basis; · Due to unpredictable latency of the network the streaming cannot guarantee the streaming of data in real-time can not be guaranteed; · Internet connections should be used mainly for preview, testing and development purposes, whereas a dedicated line provides a more solid basis for commercial purposes (see below). · Please be aware that for the reception of the EDAS data you will need to configure your firewall or PC to receive UDP packets. This may be considered a security risk. It is a good practice to separate such an experimental network or PC from your main production system. 2.2.2 Point-to-point connectionFor point-to-point connections: · Users are free to setup their own access lines between their premises and the EDAS server, in this case they may stay connected on 24/7 basis; · These lines should allow real-time data streaming with minimum latency. However, until further notice, despite its best efforts, the quality of service is not guaranteed; · Any costs associated with point-to-point client access lines shall be borne by the users; 2.3 ChecklistAny interested user applying using EDAS must comply with the following conditions:
Any application failing to meet any of the above conditions shall be rejected and the applicant will be informed by e-mail that his application is not qualified. All applications meeting the above basic conditions will be carefully assessed. Participation to EDAS will be granted or rejected based on the assessment of the application, without any guarantee that an application will be approved. Due to the limited capacity of the network connectivity such a procedure is necessary.
