ContentsGSA Management Team Carlo des Dorides, Executive DirectorCarlo des Dorides was nominated the Executive Director of the European GNSS Agency in January 2011. Before taking office, Mr. des Dorides had key management responsibilities at the European Commission, DG Enterprise. In particular, he was responsible for the definition of the Galileo/EGNOS exploitation phase.
Before joining the Commission, Mr. des Dorides was Head of the Concession Department at the European GNSS Supervisory Authority and, in this same function, he served as chief negotiator of the Galileo Public–Private–Partnership/ Concession contract at the Galileo Joint Undertaking.
Prior to his work with the European Union, Mr. des Dorides was Director of Programs and Engineering at ENAV (Ente Nazionale Assistenza al Volo) and was responsible for updating the technology of Italian airports and Area Control Centers. He has also held several senior management positions in the aerospace private sector including Head of Unit for advanced telecommunication programs and Program Manager for major satellite telecommunication projects at Alenia Aerospazio. Mr. des Dorides holds a degree in engineering from the University of Rome and an MBA from CUOA, Vicenza, Italy. 
| Gian Gherardo Calini, Head of Market DevelopmentGian Gherardo Calini became GSA's Head of Market Development in December 2006. Prior to joining the GSA, he held senior marketing and business development positions in the transportation and service industries. He built his management experience working for McKinsey & Company, Procter and Gamble and Citibank, where he held marketing and business development positions. Mr. Calini holds a Master's Degree in Economics and Law from the University of Rome and an MBA from Insead. 
| Olivier Crop, Head of the Security DepartmentIn mid 2007 Olivier Crop took up his position as Head of the GSA Security Department. Prior this role, Mr. Crop was in charge of the definition and implementation of the governmental applications of Galileo at the GSA, including the coordination with European institutions and Member States. He previously worked in France, from 2003, on research and development activities related to the specification and procurement of security studies for the governmental applications of Galileo, and, from 2000 to 2003, as the head of a GNSS laboratory providing expertise and test reports on GPS receivers. Mr. Crop has an engineering education and diploma in aeronautical and space domains from ENSICA in Toulouse, France. 
| Donna Reay, Head of Communication and InformationIn 2009 Donna Reay became the Head of Information and Outreach. Prior to this role, Ms. Reay served as Communications Officer and Spokesperson for the agency. Previously, as Communications Officer for the European Commission’s Transport Research Directorate, she worked on European transport and aerospace aspects, including European Space Policy, Security Research, and GMES. Prior to her work within the European institutions, Ms. Reay worked as a consultant on a range of European research and technology initiatives in Brussels and held several communications management positions for private industry in the United States. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida and a Masters in International Relations from Boston University. 
| Miroslav Slezak, Head of the ICT and Logistics DepartmentMiroslav Slezak became Head of the ICT and Logistics Department in December 2010. He has been working on related aspects for the Agency since joining the GSA in 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Slezak was in charge of the internal administration and Head of IT at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union. Mr. Slezak also worked in similar capacities for the Czech Delegation to NATO, the Czech embassies in the Benelux countries, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague. Mr. Slezak has a degree in software engineering from the Technical University of Brno, Czech Republic.
